Hi, I’m Hoi, ik ben Chris van der Ploeg.
I research the safety of automated and cooperative vehicles. At TNO I work as a scientist in the Integrated Vehicle Safety department; at TU Eindhoven I am an assistant professor in the Dynamics & Control group. I hold a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc (cum laude) in Systems & Control from TU Delft, and completed my PhD at TU/e in 2024 on robust fault diagnosis and occlusion-aware motion planning for automated vehicles. In 2024 I received TNO’s Young Excellent Researcher award.Ik onderzoek de veiligheid van geautomatiseerde en coöperatieve voertuigen. Bij TNO werk ik als onderzoeker bij de afdeling Integrated Vehicle Safety; aan de TU Eindhoven ben ik Assistant Professor in de groep Dynamics & Control. Ik heb een BSc in Werktuigbouwkunde en een MSc (cum laude) in Systems & Control van de TU Delft, en ben in 2024 aan de TU/e gepromoveerd op robuuste foutdiagnose en occlusie-bewuste bewegingsplanning voor geautomatiseerde voertuigen. In 2024 ontving ik de Young Excellent Researcher-award van TNO.

- At TNO: fault diagnosis, fault mitigation, and motion control for connected and cooperative vehicles.Bij TNO: foutdiagnose, foutmitigatie en bewegingsregeling voor verbonden en coöperatieve voertuigen.
- At TU/e: assistant professor in Dynamics & Control, advancing safe automated driving.Aan de TU/e: Assistant Professor in Dynamics & Control, werkend aan veilig geautomatiseerd rijden.
- My aim: make every step toward vehicle automation safer for occupants, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.Mijn doel: elke stap richting voertuigautomatisering veiliger maken voor inzittenden, voetgangers, fietsers en motorrijders.
